Principle and characteristics of fabric tactile tester

Through the simulation of hand-touched fabric movements such as pulling, pressing, pinching, kneading and rubbing, the fabric’s thickness, bending, compression, friction and tensile properties are tested, and the five quantitative indicators of thickness, softness, stiffness, smoothness and tightness are obtained to objectively evaluate the comprehensive hand-feel style of fabric. Fabric touch tester test principle:

 

It simulates the subjective feeling process of human hand on the fabric. All the indenters used are cylindrical shapes simulating human fingers with fine lines, which are used to simulate fingerprints. The indenter also adopts the form of one above and two below to simulate the process of human touch. The system quantifies the corresponding indexes through physical testing of the material, such as compression, bending, friction and tension, and obtains the surface compression thickness, softness SF, stiffness ST, smoothness SM and tightness LT, and then evaluates the comprehensive style of the fabric.

 

1. Thickness index, the thickness of the fabric compressed by the curved surface.

 

2. In the first stage, the surface is compressed to obtain the compression modulus and compression deformation, which are expressed as the softness SF.

 

3. In the second stage, the bending test obtains the bending maximum, bending modulus, bending work, etc., which is expressed as stiffness ST.

 

4. In the third stage, the average friction force, friction coefficient, friction work, etc., and the sliding degree SM are obtained by friction test.

 

5. In stage ⅳ, the tensile modulus, tensile work, etc. are obtained by tensile test, which are expressed as the tightness LT. Comprehensive evaluation of test results: comprehensive style CH=A*SF+B*ST+C*SM+D*LT system will get SF, ST, SM, LT each index is divided into one, two, three, four, five levels. Comprehensive style is the sum of the weights of softness, stiffness, smoothness and tightness, and the coefficients A, B, C and D are determined comprehensively according to the use, type and material of the material.
