This method for measuring water absorption of sized papers is usedall over the world.

the test piece and the excess water is removed bymeans of the roller.
The test piece is then weighed again and the resultsare calculated and reported as
absorptiveness ingrams per m2, according to the standard method.
Applications:
It is designed primarily for nonbibulous materials and it is not suitable for unsized porous
papers such as newsprint and blotting papers.
It is not recommended as a sizing test for writing papers or for measuring the
resistance of the surface of a sheet tominute quantities of water such as inwriting with a pen.
